Robert Carden isn't related to the two young children he sexually abused, but he did babysit them for months.
Carden, 18, of 20 Courthouse Road told Russell County Circuit Court Judge George Greene Wednesday that he abused each child only once at their Fort Mitchell, Ala., home. Charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, Carden pleaded guilty Wednesday to all three.
"Was there any particular reason you did that?" Greene asked.
"No, sir," Carden answered.

Carden admitted to raping a 6-year-old girl on May 30 and inappropriately touching a 3-year-old girl on the same day. No one was at the home at the time, he said.
One of the girls told her mother about the abuse the day it happened. He was arrested the next day.
A resident of the home for several months before the girl told her mother, Carden was often in charge of watching the girls and their three brothers.
All the children were interviewed by counselors with the Child Advocacy Center, District Attorney's Office and Department of Human Resources.
