New Aflac commercial debuts Sunday

March 07, 2008 12:58 PM

The Aflac duck has a need for speed — just like policyholders do with cash payouts when an medical emergency occurs.

That's the premise behind Aflac's latest commercial, which features NASCAR driver Carl Edwards. It's the first Aflac television spot that incorporates NASCAR since the company announced its first racing-related sponsorship in June 2007.

Aflac will release the commercial titled "Feathers" Sunday during the Kobalt Tools 500 race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. It is the first of eight races in which Aflac serves as primary sponsor of Edwards and his No. 99 Ford Fusion.

On Friday, Aflac also launched the Web site www.aflacracing.com. Fans can watch a video message from Edwards, download wallpaper and screensavers, purchase Aflac racing merchandise and more.
