The Georgia Department of Transportation anticipates ongoing construction of a new Interstate Highway 85 interchange at Gabbettville Road in Troup County will necessitate I-85 lane closures this month.
The new interchange and related Georgia DOT construction in the area are designed to serve the KIA Motors Manufacturing of Georgia production facility and training center being built at the site.
I-85 closures will be limited as much as possible to night and non-peak travel periods.
In addition to the interchange, the project includes approximately five miles of new frontage and access roads, two new bridges, improvements to Webb Road and new traffic signals at various locations.
