Opelika police arrest fourth suspect in trailer park shooting

Opelika police have arrested another man in connection with a shooting at a trailer park earlier this month.

Henry Charles Ambus, 20, of Opelika was arrested March 13 at 11:04 a.m. and charged with attempted murder and three counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, Capt. Allan Elkins said.

The arrest stems from an incident at Brookhaven trailer park on March. 4. Police received reports that two people, two trailers and two cars were shot at in the community between 1:30 p.m. and 1:40 p.m.

A 19-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were shot at by six suspects with semi-automatic handguns in the trailer park. One trailer was shot at seven times, another was shot at once in the upper corner. The suspects also shot at 1998 Chevy Cavalier and a 2005 Dodge Neon.

An excess of 20 shots were fired in the trailer park. No one was injured.
