Two Columbus churches, one predominantly white and one predominantly black, will celebrate Easter this year as one congregation, permanently.
The Bridge is the new name for the merged congregation. It blends New Life Church International, led by the Rev. Vince Allen, and Bethany Christian Center, led by the Rev. Chris Mitchell, a former pastor of Solid Rock Assembly of God.
The Bridge will meet on the Bethany property, 4311 Second Ave.
Services this Sunday are at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and after this week will be at 10 a.m. Sundays and 7 p.m. Wednesdays (Bible study).
