A hot car turned up over the weekend off Schatulga Road in east Columbus, but that doesn't mean it was stylish or stolen.
That means it was burned.
A man called police at 7:10 a.m. Saturday to report what was described as an abandoned vehicle at the corner of Dixie Street and Canal Street near Bull Creek. The man said it had appeared there overnight, sometime between 7:20 p.m. Friday and 6:40 a.m. Saturday. The fire had charred surrounding tree limbs and grass
"The car appears to have been a Ford Taurus, but any other identifiable markings were unavailable," police reported.
