The Russell County Commission will have a very limited agenda when it has its work session at 5 p.m. EDT today at the Russell County Courthouse.
The commission main items of business will be a grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs for the House of Restoration, a shelter for the homeless in Phenix City.
Russell County District 4 Commissioner Johnnie Robinson is the founder and CEO for the House of Restoration, but has typically abstained from any discussion or vote involving the group.
County Attorney Kenneth Funderburk will discuss storm debris left over from the Feb. 17 tornado that devastated parts of south Russell County. The county had initially offered to assist families in clearing off their homesites in the wake of the storm, but later found it may be illegal to do so.
