Robbery foiled at Carver Park

A robbery was foiled Sunday afternoon at Carver Park.

Alex Harris, 30, was at the east Columbus park around 4:30 p.m. when he said a black male wearing a striped shirt with short hair and bad skin in his late 20s known as "Trell" jumped out of his black Chevrolet Suburban. Wielding a black sawed-off shotgun, he tried to rob Harris, police said. Harris escaped in his 2000 Ford Expedition as the man fired at him. No injuries were reported.

Harris later contacted police from a Gardiner Drive home.
