Arrests made at alleged house of prostitution

Columbus police arrested a man and a woman on Easter in connection with a house of prostitution.

Chassity Cliatt, 30, and Gary Alday, 62, both of 4320 Third Ave., were taken into custody around 6 p.m. Sunday at their home. Cliatt faces a charge of solicitation of sodomy. Alday is charged with keeping a place of prostitution.

Police got a complaint from a neighbor about the home about a week ago, Capt. William Turner said. That led police to start looking closer at the house.

"We did a little surveillance, did a little investigation and that's how it turned out," Turner said. "(Alday) was allowing it to go on inside his residence."

An officer entered the home Sunday, and Turner said he was solicited. Cliatt and Alday were then arrested.

"This is the second time that this guy has been arrested for that," Turner said.
