Driver crashes into Columbus State sign

A car crashed into the sign at the main entrance of Columbus State University Saturday afternoon after the driver suffered a seizure.

Police said the woman, who was not identified, was driving near the intersection of University Avenue and Gentian Boulevard, when she suffered a seizure and crashed her white four-door car into the brick university sign.

The woman, who was not seriously injured, was taken to The Medical Center for treatment.

A tow truck removed the car from the sign, which had some bricks crumbled and lettering knocked off its corner.
