A watercraft and boating safety course will be conducted at the West Point Project Management office on April 15 and April 17 from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
The course is being offered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, West Point Project in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxililary Flotilla 81.
The course will provide information on navigation rules, legal requirements, new boating laws, and preventing personal watercraft and boating accidents.
Those finishing the course will get a certificate exempting Alabama residents from taking the written exam for an Alabama boating license. The course meets Georgia's law that requires completion of a safe boating course for person agesd 12-15 who wish to operate a personal watercraft or boat without adult supervision.
There is a $15 fee.
