CSU music students win Music Teachers National Association awards

Two Columbus State University Schwob School of Music students won Music Teachers National Association awards.

Juniors Boris Abramov, violin, is the winner of the senior performance in competition in the string category and Andy Hudson, clarinet, is the senior performance competition in the woodwind category.

The 2007-08 Music Teachers National Association Conference is in Denver, and both Abramov and Hudson will perform today during the winners' concert.

Abramov studies with Sergiu Schwartz, while Hudson studies with Lisa Oberlander.

"I'm sure that having two winners from the same institution is unusual," said Fred Cohen, the director of the Schwob School. "I'm sure you'll join me in congratulating these two young men, as well as their colleagues who joined them in the national competition."
