Local musicians on Saturday will pay tribute to John Philip Sousa, the American composer best known for "Stars and Stripes Forever," the National March of the USA.
The show is presented by the High School Band Directors National Association and the Bob Barr Community Band, conducted by George Corradino. Two band directors will also be inducted into the High School Band Directors National Hall of Fame.
Composer and conductor Sousa, who died in 1932, is widely known as "The March King" because of the many military marches he wrote.
Saturday's concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Springer Opera House, 103 10th St. in Columbus. Admission is $10. Proceeds and donations will be used to help promote school bands.
