Cigarettes stolen from Piggly-Wiggly

Someone walked away from the St. Marys Road Piggly-Wiggly Wednesday with hundreds in cigarettes.

A Columbus police officer responded to the grocery store, at 3846 St. Marys Road, after 5 a.m. to find the glass in the front door broken. It appeared someone had used an in-ground water meter cover to break the glass.

Inside, it was discovered that 12 cartons of Newport cigarettes were missing. About $300 in property damage was done to the business.
