Georgia Southwestern honored by PAD

The Pollution Prevention Assistance Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (PAD) has recognized Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Ga., as an environmental leader.

GSW was accepted this week into the PAD's partnership for a Sustainable Georgia at the silver level.

GSW was honored for its work on preserving trees, eliminating air pollution and protecting water resources.

Projects at GSW have included the creation of a campus water garden to promote study and relaxation and the construction of a nature trail for academic and recreational use by students and campus visitors.
