It was another record-breaker today for gas prices in Columbus and across the nation.
The average price of regular unleaded rose to $3.281 per gallon locally, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. It is seven-tenths higher than on Wednesday.
That's up from nearly $3.21 per gallon a month ago and $2.67 per gallon on April 10 a year ago.
The highest average recorded in Georgia today is $3.35 per gallon in Savannah, an all-time high for that city, which has seen sharply rising fuel prices this week.
The state's lowest average, as usual, can be found in Augusta, which is $3.25 per gallon.
Diesel fuel prices, which have held steady locally since March 21, registered $4 per gallon today in Columbus.
On the national front, the average for regular unleaded today is a record high of $3.36 per gallon, AAA reported. Diesel is more than $4.04 per gallon.
