House of Mercy hosts singing, cookout and service

The House of Mercy is sponsoring an outdoor church service, gospel sing and cookout 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The event will be at the city park dedicated to the founder of the homeless shelter, Ocie Harris, on the corner of Brown Avenue and Cusseta Road.

This is the first such event put on by the HOM.

In case of rain, the service will be at 10 a.m. at the House of Mercy, 1532 Third Ave. The singing and cookout will then take place under a tent at the Brown Avenue location.
