Lanett man arrested in stabbing death

A Lanett man accused of stabbing another man in the chest and killing him has turned himself into police.

Bobby Oneal Billingsley, 29, was charged by Lanett police with manslaughter.

The charges stem from an incident at Cahaba Springs Apartments, located off Highway 50. Police found Travis Green, 25, dead, between two apartment buildings with a stab wound to his chest.

While conducting an investigation, police were able to locate the weapon used in the crime, a kitchen knife, and developed Billingsley as a suspect.

Witnesses said that the suspect ran to the apartment of his brother, Bobby Dorsey. Billingsley later turned himself into police.

He is now being held at the Chambers County jail.
