LaGrange man shot in his home

A LaGrange man is in the hospital after a man entered his home Saturday and shot him, police said.

Carlos Lopes Martinez. 28, told LaGrange police that he was sitting in the living room of his home on DeGroat Street when he heard a commotion and his front door flew open.

He walked to the door to see what was happening and was shot in the chest by an unknown man.

Three suspects fled the residence and Martinez pursued them for a while, but later returned to his home to receive medical treatment.

When police and EMS arrived, Martinez was transported to the West Georgia Medical Center for treatment for his gunshot wound.
