Columbus police have arrested two suspects in the slaying of a truck driver in August 2007.

Mario Williams and Diana Branchfield were arrested Friday. Williams is charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime; Branchfield is charged with murder, police said.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred Aug. 1. John Beflance, a truck driver from Fonda, N.Y., was found dead with a gunshot wound to his chest inside his 18-wheeler at 3473 N. Lumpkin Road.

Both Williams and Branchfield are expected to appear in Muscogee County Recorder's Court at 9 a.m. Monday
