James to take command of NCO Academy

Command Sgt. Maj. Zoltan James will assume command of the Noncommissioned Officers Academy from Command Sgt. Maj. Jay A. Brimstin in a 9 a.m. ceremony Tuesday in front of Fort Benning's Infantry Hall.

James, a veteran of 23 years, had been serving as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major of the 2nd Battalion, 54th Infantry Regiment on post.

He's married to the former Sherry Crabtree of Columbus. They have two children, Christine 17 and Matthew 12, and reside in Midland.

Brimstin will be retiring after nearly 30 years.

The NCO Academy provides training to selected soldiers and Infantrymen on the technical and tactical competencies necessary to complete the mission. The areas of focus include leadership, duties, responsibilities, authorities, maintenance, war fighting skills and training management.
