St. Mary's Road UMC has anniversary weekend

In celebration of its 52nd church anniversary, St. Mary's Road United Methodist Church is having the following events:5:30 p.m.-9:15 p.m. Friday: Free dinner 5:30-7 p.m. and a movie at 7 p.m. followed with Praise and Prayer with the Prayer Team Ministry.

Saturday is a free health fair with the following services 10 a.m. 2 p.m.: Height/Weight, BMI, HTN, DM, Cholesterol, Vision/Hearing, Healthy Happy Feet, Osteoporosis, Anemia, Stroke, Emotional V/S, Skin care, Dental, Spinal Screenings, Health/Fitness Information, Mental Health, Nutrition, Ask the Doc, Mission Columbus Medical Clinic, Georgia Family PeachCare, West Georgia Cancer Coalition, Columbus Health Department, Area Agency on Aging; and a financial seminar 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The topic is mortgages.

Doctors will be on hand to answer questions 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

A ministry fair and garage sale begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Includes free kids' games, food, prizes and a teen 3-on-3 basketball tournament.

Tables are for rent for $10 to sell your wares.

A service begins at 10 a.m. Sunday featuring the Rev. J.H. Flakes III as speaker. Flakes is the pastoral assistant at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church. A dinner follows.

Additionally, revival is 7 p.m. April 28-April 30 with guest choirs and the following speakers: the Revs. Marlon Scott, Richard Martindale and Zeph Baker. Scott is pastor of Emmanuel Christian Community Church. Martindale is the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church. And Baker is a minister on staff at Spirit Filled Church.

A children's ministry party is 5:30-7 p.m. April 30.

A "Youth Jam Fest" is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 3 featuring the hip hop group No Compromise. There will also be workshops: Mic Check – History of Hip Hop and Effects on Young People, Thugs Life – Are You Really Ready for the Street, I Got Yo’ Money – Making an Idea a Business Deal, Hoop Dreams – The Reality of Playing College Sports and Mirror Image – How Does Your Appearance Affect Perception.
