A Columbus man was in surgery Tuesday afternoon after getting shot in the chest, police said.
Clarence Kevin Sanks, 26, was at 2135 Gleason Ave. around 3 p.m. when a white car pulled up with three men in masks, said Columbus Police Lt. Charles Kennedy. One of the passengers got out of the car with a gun, and Sanks ran inside.
"One shot was fired through the doorway, and it struck Mr. Sanks in the chest," Kennedy said.
Sanks fled out the back of the home and went to a nearby house, where he collapsed. He was taken to The Medical Center and was in surgery at 5:30 p.m.
Police had no suspects Tuesday evening.
