The kick-off for the Georgia Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run will be Wednesday, May 21.
The ceremony will take place in the west parking lot of the Public Safety Building at 9 a.m.
The torch run is the largest annual fundraising event for the Georgia Special Olympics.
More than 1,500 officers from more than 150 agencies will take part in a 1,000 mile relay to pass the Special Olympics Georgia "Flame of Hope" across the nation.
All nine of the relays converge at Emory University during the State Summer Games Opening Ceremony.
