A Columbus man had a gun put to his head Wednesday morning during an armed robbery, Columbus police said.
The 31-year-old man was talking to his girlfriend on his cell phone outside of his Cusseta Road apartment around 1:45 a.m. when he saw a man hiding behind a nearby car. The man then jumped from his hiding spot with a gun, saying, "Give it up, fool," police said.
The man told the robber he had nothing before he was forced face down on the pavement. The robber felt his pockets, telling his victim that because he didn't have any money, he didn't need to continue talking to his girlfriend.
He then grabbed the cell phone and ran into some nearby woods, police said.
The black man, who held a small .38-caliber revolver, is described as being around 18-21 years old, standing 5-foot-5, weighing 145 pounds and wearing a black shirt, pants, shoes and bandana.
