'Idol' down to three singers

With Wednesday's elimination of single mom LaKisha Jones, three's company in the "American Idol" contestant pool. Here's a look at the remaining singers:

Melinda Doolittle, 29, is a former backup singer from Brentwood, Tenn. She's pretty much garnered consistent praise since the audition rounds, but some fans fear her lack of personality could stand in the way of victory.

Blake Lewis, 25, hails from Bothell, Wash. The sole remaining male, he's known for his innovative beatboxing — which may or may not be enough to compensate for inconsistent vocals.

Jordin Sparks, 17, is from Glendale, Ariz. The fresh-faced power belter and daughter of a former football pro has earned a title as this season's frontrunner. Last week, however, she was criticized after some fans thought she feigned tears on elimination night.
