With the Little League Southeastern Regional tournament searching for a new home, Columbus is in the process of making a bid for it and the Southeastern headquarters.
The Columbus Sports Council, the Chamber of Commerce and Parks and Recreation are in the course of creating a proposal to Little League, according to Parks and Recreation Director Tony Adams.
The tournament has been held in Gulfport, Fla., for more than four decades.
The winner of the Southeast Regional advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. The tournament will be played at Arnold S. White Stadium from Aug. 2-8.
