Residents who want more input into Columbus' master plan may attend the first of three meetings on it 6-8 tonight at Veterans Memorial Middle School, 2008 Old Guard Road.
City planners and consultants from Jordan, Jones & Goulding are to report their progress on updating the city's comprehensive plan, which is supposed to map the city's future development and guide land-use decisions through 2028, with updates every five years.
Those who attended earlier sessions on the comprehensive plan should check to see if they're getting what they asked for, said Rick Jones, the city's planning director.
"I think they need to come and determine if we got it right. We heard one thing, but they may have meant something else. Or we may not have captured something they said or didn't say the last time that needs to be captured."

The plan is to be presented to Columbus Council in July.
The other two meetings this week will be 6-8 Tuesday at the Columbus Public Library, 3000 Macon Road, and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria of Baker Middle School, 1215 Benning Drive.
