The Columbus Health Department urges everyone to get a free confidential HIV test Friday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Testing will be administered at District Clinical Services, 2100 Comer Avenue, Second Floor in observance of National HIV Testing Day.
National HIV Testing Day is an annual campaign to encourage people who don't know their HIV status to get tested. The message of this year's campaign is "Take the test. Take Control."
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 1,039,000 to 1,185,00 people in the U.S. are living with HIV/AIDS and one out of every four people with HIV don't tell their partners, not because they don't care but because they don't know.
