West Point Lake posts bridge signs

Ten bridges crossing Georgia's West Point Lake now bear signs identifying their location to boaters out on the water.

The lake's Water Safety Council, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the state Department of Transportation worked together to get the signs posted at these sites:

Lower Glass Bridge at Maple Creek.

The Highway 109 bridges Wehadkee Creek and the river channel.

Whitaker Road Bridge.

Cameron Mill Road Bridge.

Highway 219 at the main channel and across Yellowjacket Creek.

Highway 27 at Yellowjacket Creek, Beech Creek and the river channel in Franklin.

The Corps also has posted park identification signs at 27 boat ramps and painted water safety messages on reservoir bridges.
