The first day of advance voting for the July 15 primary has been swift.
Columbus voters have four sites to choose from this week -- the Government Center, Columbus Public Library, Frank D. Chester Recreation Center and Cunningham Center for Leadership Development. All four had lines waiting when they opened this morning, said Nancy Boren, executive director of the Muscogee County Office of Elections and Registration.
"Not long lines, but people waiting, wanting to cast their ballots," she said.
Any registered voter can cast their ballot during advance voting this week. No reason is needed to vote prior to the July 15 primary.
