Linda Pierce, the clerk of superior, state and juvenile courts in Muscogee County is warning residents about deed letters they should ignore.
Pierce says a company called National Deed Service is sending letters to residents offering to send a copy of a the deed their home for $89.50.
She says the letters gives the impression that the company is associated with the her office.
Pierce says residents may obtain a certified copy of a deed from her office at the price of $2.50 for the first page and 50 cents for any additional pages. An uncertified copy may be received for just 25 cents per page.
