The Lee County Board of Education will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 15 at 7 p.m. EST in the auditorium of the Lee County Instructional Center in Salem.
The board will discuss authorizing superintendent Steve Nowlin to borrow $30 million for the new Smiths Station High School and get an update on the architect's work on the high school.
The board will also vote on a proposal to distribute old middle and high school textbooks to a prison ministry.
All board meetings are open to the public.
