Gas prices continued their upward spike today in Columbus, rising to another all-time high.
The average price of regular hit $4.042 per gallon locally, up slightly from Sunday, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report and the Oil Price Information Service.
Columbus gas prices are 6 cents per gallon higher than they were a month ago. They are $1.15 per gallon higher than on July 14 a year ago.
Atlanta and Athens, both at nearly $4.07 per gallon, have the highest average price in Georgia today.

The state's lowest average can be found in Augusta at $3.95 per gallon.
Diesel fuel prices also rose a penny higher today in Columbus to $4.82 per gallon, an all-time high.
Nationally, more records were broken.
The U.S. average for regular gas reached $4.11 per gallon, AAA reported, while diesel topped $4.82 per gallon.
