Vernon Jones, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, visited Columbus this morning.
Jones said that Jim Martin his opponent in the August 5 runoff is "too liberal" for Georgia. Hearing that Dale Cardwell, who drew 77,000 votes as a Democratic senatorial candidate, had endorsed Martin, Jones said, "those votes don't transfer;" and he hopes to prove to the people of Georgia that he has the best shot to beat Republican Saxby Chambliss in November.
