An Opelika firefighter was arrested Wednesday afternoon for making and selling pirated DVDs.
Derek Terence Goggans was arrested by Opelika police at the fire department on Lake Condy Road and charged with four counts of manufacturer's name required on package and four counts of possession, sale, rental, etc. of recorded device in violation of article prohibited, Capt. Allan Elkins said.
The charges stem from a month-long undercover investigation by the Opelika police department and the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
An undercover officer purchased a number of pirated DVDs from Goggans, Elkins said.

Calls to the Opelika fire chief for comment on Goggans' employment were not immediately returned.
