A dollar store in Columbus was burglarized early Saturday morning.

Shortly before 5 a.m., a Columbus police officer out on patrol noticed that the front glass door of the Family Dollar on Farr Road was broken, according to a police report.

After the officer searched the business and found no one inside, the store manager was contacted and the store's security video was reviewed.

Security footage revealed that at approximately 4:30 a.m., a man threw a piece of concrete at the store door, shattering the glass. The man pulled his shirt over his face and entered the store. He ran to the left front counter and appeared to search through the cashier.

The men took two drinks, valued at $3.25 before fleeing the scene.

One suspect is described as standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 150 lbs, wearing a white shirt and black shorts. The other suspect is described as standing about 6 feet tall and weighing 150 lbs., wearing a white shirt and jean shorts.

The case remains under investigation.
