Shopping cart thrown through store window

A Dollar General store was broken into early Saturday morning.

According to a Columbus police report, two men threw a shopping cart through the front window of the store on St. Mary's Road between the hours of 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.

One man attempted to climb through the window, then ran from the scene. Nothing was taken and the store window sustained about $300 worth of damage.

Both men were described as standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, with slim builds. Based on the store's surveillance footage, both men looked to be in their teens and were wearing white T-shirts. One man was wearing tan pants and another was wearing black pants.

The case remains under investigation.
