Seventies rock and boogie band Grand Funk Railroad will play Fort Benning's Wetherby Field in September, ticket broker Ticketmaster is reporting. Alternative rockers Bowling For Soup will open the show.
Grand Funk is best known for a string of gold records for songs like "We're an American Band," "Closer To Home," "Some Kind of Wonderful," and a boogie-shuffle cover of "The Loco-Motion." Founding members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher are still in the lineup, joined by former .38 Special vocalist Max Carl and KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick.
The concert is set for Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $20. The show is open to the public, and general admission seating on the lawn begins at 6:30 p.m. Fort Benning is prohibiting the public to bring coolers to the show, but it is open to the public. For tickets, visit www.ticketmaster.com.
