The RiverCenter for the Performing Arts' Third annual Single Ticket Saturday is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 16.

Single Ticket Saturday is the public’s first chance to buy single tickets to all shows for the 2008-2009 season. The best-available single tickets are usually snapped up on this day.

In 2007, several hundred people were waiting in line before the box office opened at 10 a.m.

There will be free hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Colas from noon-2 p.m.

Adults can take part in the Crazy Coupon Machine where you can win free tickets, RiverCenter T-shirts, mugs and other merchandise.

This year, the RiverCenter is allowing the public to buy single tickets for Broadway shows early. After Aug. 16, single tickets to Broadway shows can only be purchased six weeks before performance dates and only if seating is still available.

Those who want to buy single tickets to five or more events from the 2008-2009 season qualify for the 10 percent off Custom Combo Discount. For the first time, Broadway shows can be included in the creation of a Custom Combo but only if purchased on Aug. 16.

Call 706-256-3612.
