Georgia Military College in Columbus has modified its academic calendar to reduce the number of times students must drive to campus.
This is being done because of the increased cost of gasoline.
This fall, GMC will transition from four, 10-week quarters per year to five, 8-week accelerated mini-terms per year.
Also classes will no longer be held on Friday.
