4 arrested for robberies of Hispanics

Since May 26, the Lanett Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit in Lanett, Ala., has been investigating several robberies and two assaults of Hispanics in the area.

Four arrests have been made.

Arrested for the May 26 robbery were George Chambers 19, of Lanett, Al Jamal Barker, 20, of Valley, Ala., and a 16-year-old juvenile of Lanett.

Police say the the trio held a Hispanic male down with a gun and took $800 and a cell phone. All were charged with robbery.

Arrested for the May 27 robbery of three Hispanic males are Chambers, and Eric Isom, 20, of Valley, Ala. Both were charged with robbery.

In this incident, police say Chambers and Isom held 3 Hispanic males at gunpoint and stole a bucket full of change.

Arrested for the June 15 robbery of two Hispanic males were Chambers and Isom.

Chambers was arrested for assault for shooting one of the Hispanic males. In this incident, police say, Chambers and Isom ran into the Hispanics' yard and Chambers shot one man sitting on the porch.
