The LaGrange, Ga., home of Tony Yarbrough was destroyed by fire Friday.
LaGrange firefighters were dispatched to the Cosby Drive home and found heavy fire and smoke showing from the single-story brick structure around the carport and kitchen area.
Also, live power lines were down which caused a major hazard to firefighters.
Neighbors heard a loud explosion and feared Yarbrough might be inside but nobody was at home.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in approximately 20 minutes.
Investigators believe the origin of the fire was in a utility room under the carport.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
The damage was estimated at $85,000.
