Atlanta is becoming known for their haunted houses.
The Netherworld Haunted House is the No. 1 haunted house in America by HauntWorld magazine. It is now open 7 p.m.-midnight Oct. 3-4, Oct. 10-11, Oct. 17-18, Oct. 24-25, Oct. 31-Nov. 1 and 7 p.m.-11 p.m. Oct. 5-9, Oct. 12-16, Oct. 19023, Oct. 26-30 and Nov. 2 in the Georgia Antique & Design Center, 6624 Dawson Blvd. It's on the I-85 access road just south of Exit 99, in Norcross.
Carnivore features werewolves vs. other inhuman beings. There are a Bottomless Pit, the Vicious Wolf Pack, the Time/Space Ripper, the Slime Pits of the NETHERWORLD and the 17 Foot Tall Pumpkin King.
Mangler is a serial killer hiding in the depths of the city's forgotten tunnels. You may encounter the Skull Crusher, massive gore, live roaches, snakes, rats, Hogzilla, the Twisted Dentist and the Pile Driver.
Tickets are $18 for Carnivore; $25 for Carnivore and Mangler; $50 for the SpeedPass for both Carnivore and Mangler.
At Six Flags Over Georgia's Fright Fest' there are kids' costume contests, a trick or treat trail, a children's corn maze, scary storytimes, arts and crafts, haunted houses and the new musical, "Love at First Fright."
It is open 6-11 p.m. Oct. 3, Oct. 10, Oct. 17, Oct. 24, Oct. 31; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Oct. 4, Oct. 11, Oct. 18, Oct. 25; 10:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 5, Oct. 12, Oct. 19, Oct. 26; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 1 and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 2.
Tickets are $29.99; children 2 and younger get in free. Dr. Fright's Frightorium Haunted House is an additional $10. Parking is $15-$20.
Season tickets for 2009 are on sale now for $49.99, the lowest price in four years.
