Help the Hooch looking for volunteers

Residents of the Chattahoochee Valley are invited to participate in the 14th annual Help the Hooch river clean-up, October 17 and 18.

Organizers for the annual clean-up are in the final stages of preparation and looking for volunteers.

Volunteers will be assigned to area lakes, streams, public parks and sites along the Riverwalk in Columbus and Phenix City.

Many local private and public schools will be conducting cleanups at their schools on Friday, Oct. 17.

After the clean-up, all volunteers are invited to The Watershed Festival in Golden Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 18. Fun activities and games will be offered, as well as hot dogs, drinks and other refreshments.
