Robbers pistol whip clerk in convenience store robbery

Columbus police are searching for two suspects in this morning's convenience store robbery that left one clerk injured.

Two men entered the Circle K at 5758 Milgen Road at 2:10 a.m. and robbed one of the clerks of an undisclosed amount of his money, police said. Prior to taking his cash, however, the suspects used a gun to pistol whip the 20-year-old store employee in the face.

The robbers then turned their attention to the second clerk who gave them an undisclosed amount of the store's money.

Police are searching for two black men, both between 18 and 20-years-old and weighing between 135 and 140 pounds. One of the suspects appeared to be about 5-feet 8-inches tall. The second man stood about 6-feet tall. Both suspects were wearing dark clothing. One suspect wore a red bandanna over his face while the other concealed his face with a ski mask.

The descriptions of the suspects in the Circle K robbery match that given to police in Thursday's robbery of the Forrest Road Package Store, 5070 Forrest Road.

Two men entered the store about 8:30 p.m., approached the clerk and demanded money. They may have sped off in a dark blue Chevy Blazer, police said.

Anyone with information about either of these robberies is asked to call Columbus police at 706-653-3400.
