Three juveniles arrested in robbery, carjacking of elderly Columbus couple

Columbus police have charged three juveniles in connection with the Sept. 26 robbery and carjacking of an 82-year-old man and his 79-year-old wife, said Police Lt. Gil Slouchick.

The crime occurred in the 3500 block of 35th Street at about 9:15 p.m.

Arrested were three teens, ages 14, 15 and 16. All are from Columbus and all three will be charged as adults.

Police say that each teen will be charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of hijacking a motor vehicle and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. One of the juveniles is scheduled to appear in Recorder's Court today at 2 p.m., Slouchick said.

Neither victim was injured in the robbery and carjacking.
