Tons of trash removed

More than three tons of trash were removed from the Chattahoochee River and Walter F. George Lake as part of "Lake Pride Cleanup."

The cleaning event was sponsored by Bagby State Park and Lodge.

The cleanup campaign on Sept. 27 removed litter and helped preserve the area from Fort Gaines to Georgetown, Ga.

There were 220 participants who collected approximately 6,450 pounds of trash.
