Carver High School's Jarvis Jones named to play in the All-American Bowl

Carver High School senior linebacker Jarvis Jones has been selected to play in the Army’s All-American Bowl Jan. 3 in San Antonio.

Brig. Gen. Lloyd “Milo” Miles, Fort Benning’s deputy commanding general, will present Jarvis with the jersey at 2 p.m. Monday during a pep rally at Carver.

Jones was named as defensive player of the year in Georgia twice and for Columbus three times.

He also plays basketball and was named player of the year in 2007.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl, an East vs. West contest, is the nation’s premier All-American game and will feature the nation’s top 90 senior football players.

The game will be broadcast live locally on WLTZ-TV 38.
