Man charged with groping women on campus

A Columbus man accused of groping college students was arrested Monday by CSU police.

Robert E. Lockhart, 23, of 3502 4th Ave. is accused of grabbing two women on Columbus State University's campus, said Greg Muraski, public relations for the college.

Lockhart allegedly grabbed the buttocks of the first woman near Carpenters Hall around 1:40 p.m., running away afterward. A second woman was grabbed moments later on Dillingham Street.

The first woman gave a description of the man to police, and the second woman's boyfriend followed the suspect while she called authorities. Lockhart, who matched the suspect's description, was arrested shortly afterward.

Lockhart is charged with two counts of sexual battery.
